ALBERTASTAR TO COMMENCE DRILLING ON THE BLACKFOOT, ALBERTA HEAVY OIL PROPERTY

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - Alberta Star Development Corp. (TSXV: ASX) (the “Company”)is pleased to announce that, as an update to its press release of February 10, 2011, with respect of a proposed three (3) well (1.0 net well to the Company) drilling program, that the first well of the program is expected to be spudded this weekend, with the remaining two (2) heavy oil wells on adjacent sections expected to be spudded after spring break-up. All three (3) drilling locations are located on the Blackfoot property in the Lloydminster, Alberta heavy oil area, in which the Company acquired a net 33 1/3% interest in August 2010. The three well project is scheduled to include drilling and completing three in-fill heavy oil wells at the following locations: C6-24-050-02-W4, 3D-11-050-02-W4 and C7-14-050-02-W4. Once completed this program will increase the number of Lloydminster heavy oil wells that the Company has an interest in, to seventeen (17). The Company will have a 33 1/3 working interest in the three new wells. The Company’s heavy oil assets are primarily concentrated in the heavy oil producing region around the Lloydminster area straddling the Alberta and Saskatchewan boundary where the Company has accumulated working interests in approximately 2,500 acres of undeveloped land.

This should enable the Company to pursue future expansion into the oil and natural gas resource sector through exploration drilling, existing asset development and production asset acquisition. The Company’s strong balance sheet is expected to enable the Company to continue to increase it’s production in the oil and gas sector.

The Company maintains a strong balance sheet and is committed to increasing its daily oil production, by selecting and acquiring additional strategic oil and gas properties for acquisition, exploration and then developing these petroleum and natural gas resource assets. The Company plans on increasing exploration and development of its existing petroleum and natural gas resource assets with the view of increasing its daily production with these assets. The Company continues to review and seek to acquire additional strategic oil & gas exploration properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and as well, is seeking to acquire additional international oil and gas production and exploration projects. The Company will also consider advanced stage base and precious metal property acquisitions and will seek to acquire additional exploration and production resource projects.
